Our Birth

With the lockdowns and rigid restrictions on food service operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, countless food service employees have been laid off or furloughed or have experienced reduced working hours. In fact, the food service industry has been one of the hardest hit sectors in the economy by the pandemic. The Restaurant Business Group (RBG) started back then as a way to create rewards and discounts to incentivize existing and new customers to visit local restaurants or order takeout and delivery from restaurants. Some of the restaurants that RBI worked with at the beginning were able to increase profits during COVID-19. A significant percentage of them say that implementing the delivery applications provided by RBG has been crucial to their business during COVID-19.

RBG founder Pedro Penalver, who also owns WPB Media Group, saw opportunities to venture into the food & drink industry as his company started building delivery apps for local restaurants to operate their online food ordering and food delivery platforms without depending totally on third-party companies like DoorDash and UberEats.

Many of our clients reported a record number of orders and better-than-expected revenue results. Restaurant owners could reduce the profit margins they would otherwise pay to food delivery platforms while implementing their delivery service to a higher standard.

Next, several virtual restaurant concepts were planned after RBG’s food-delivery app was successfully used in more than a dozen Palm Beach County restaurants.

One Year Later

RBG’s first virtual restaurant started operating. Pizza Del Buono was the company’s first concept with a full menu from different local restaurant kitchens in Palm Beach County.

With food delivery outpacing dine-in by 300% since 2016, our first virtual restaurant has proven to be an advantage past the marginal cost, as operating a traditional storefront is expensive, with multiple avenues that require attention and money. Moreover, this means introducing novel dishes to local diners, especially a menu of specific dishes that restaurants are known for.

RBG created a subsidiary company, Kaffa, LLC, in order to deliver freshly roasted coffee to consumers all over the United States of America and Puerto Rico. Kaffa LLC’s single origins and signature blends create the perfect cup of coffee every morning.

The Restaurant Business Group started conceptualizing a brand-new online-only delivery restaurant concept to cater to the needs of diners in South Florida. Enter Box My Food.

Box My Food™ is a virtual cuisine concept that fulfills orders from a brick-and-mortar location for delivery or pick-up services. It differentiates itself from any virtual restaurant or ghost kitchen mainly because of its operational concept. Box My Food™ features a single menu from some of the following cuisines: Traditional American, New American, Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Greek, Hawaiian, French, Cuban, Middle Eastern, and Thai.

We’re digital nomads living a digital life! Whatever we want or need can be obtained with just a few clicks on our beloved smart devices. Even food! Box My Food™ will allow customers to place an order at virtually any time, from anywhere, saving the time and resources typically spent traveling to pick up a meal. It also saves time from having to place orders from different restaurants.

Box My Food™ is scheduled to start in early 2025.
